Does your Sports Team need a Doctor of Chiropractic?

Chiropractic Care can give you an edge. Many sport teams from the professional level down to the high school level have chiropractors as their resident team doctors. Champions around the world use Chiropractic Care including Evander Holyfield of boxing, Martina Navratilova and John McEnroe of tennis, and many more including world class bikers, golfers and race car drivers.

Most professional athletes of sports like football, basketball, baseball, ice-hockey, soccer and weightlifting, wouldn't dream of competing without first getting an adjustment from their chiropractor. That's why 75 percent of the San Fransisco 49ers received chiropractic care the day that they played and won the 1990 Super Bowl! It is no surprise that during the Olympics that there are usually at least 16 chiropractors traveling with the teams from over 12 countries around the world.

What do Sports Injuries Do to my Spine?

Sports Injuries nearly always jar and misalign the spinal column, a blow to the ribs, legs, feet, head, shoulder or torso always radiates to the center of the body. This is why chiropractic adjustments are needed, regardless of the nature of the injury. In some occasions, medical doctors are not trained to locate and correct spinal subluxations like your chiropractor can. As then quarterback Joe Montano of the 49ers stated, I only wish I had tried chiropractic care a few years ago when I first started having back pain, maybe this surgery would never have happened.

How Long Should I Continue To See A Chiropractor?

When you meet with the doctor, the first visit will cover what injuries you are suffering and you will receive an estimated time of how long it will take for the adjustments to heal your body. This of course, is estimated and your cooperation is needed as well during the healing stage. However, healing is not the incredible part of Chiropractic Care, with continued adjustments and check-ups, many athletes find that they have increased energy, more flexibility and increased endurance
